Brush your teeth regularly
Twice a day, at least two minutes each time. Although you can use a regular toothbrush for brushing, it is easier to master proper brushing techniques with an electric one. It is advisable to change the brush every three to four months. Clean the spaces between your teeth at least once a day. This process involves using a method you’re comfortable with, whether it’s dental floss or interdental brushes.
Use toothpastes containing fluoride and calcium
For adults and children over six years of age, a fluoride content of 1,350 to 1,500 PPM in toothpaste is recommended. For children under six years of age who do not have caries, paste containing fluoride up to 1000 PPM is suitable.
Try making adjustments to your diet and eating habits
It is wise to reduce your consumption of foods containing added sugar. It is important to understand that consumption of sweets should be conscious. Although you don’t need to give up sweets completely, it is recommended to eat them wisely: after sweet snacks, especially sticky ones, you should snack on something savory or wash it down with water.
When drinking carbonated drinks, it is preferable to use a straw to reduce the impact of sugar and acid on your teeth. Regular visits to the dentist are necessary, even if there is no tooth pain!
